Ok lets try something re plex first - in control panel>general settings have you got force secure connections checked? if so uncheck it as that might be why plex is complaining when you start it up - if you want secure connections you need to enable that option within plex once you get it running turn on signatures in the forum control panel and you can see signatures - in mine there is a link to required info - please provide it as it helps to understand your set up and avoids asking lots of questions The 410 is an Arm based nas and is a low power option cpu - will work fine but do not expect it to be quick at anything intensive - e.g. So my question is what would you recomend please? Cheers Tim Now I'm just a single guy, not a business and I feel that I could cope with just a 4 or 5 bay unit hence I don't want to be spending thousands - maybe an absolute max figure of 900 UK pounds for the NAS alone. Please could you inform me what model would stream media super quick - PLUS - I am looking at installing CCTV and am thinking I could use the NAS to store video for 48hr periods each two days just overwriting what's there already - PLUS - I want it as a backup device for my PC desktop - PLUS - I want to be be able to access files remotely. So, I now realise that i need to change the NAS buy another. This mainly as I have not played with it enough as my job has me away from home for most of every day. SO, although I've had this NAS about 18months I've never really got it going the way I want. It HAS to be stupid quick otherwise I'm not happy. and give us the info required in my signature it will save time = sorry Tim I don't understand this? Now you say running on a 410 is not a good thing. Ignore that and click on 'yes', and it opens a browser at my cloud address. I click on the Plex icon and get a message that secure connections are not supported. Looking for a way to stream media from the NAS to my TV. Installed just this week for the first time. I can get into web gui - 20160311 is the firmware build v4.2.1 installed from Qnap's latest release - never worked.
